3 quick hits to sell better 1200x400 ASH

As both a runner and a financial advisor, I often find correlations between my marathons and my business. Recently, I ran a marathon and noticed another runner in my age group who seemed to be struggling. Due to the nature of the route, I passed him several times during the run. And, at the finish line I made a point of congratulating him on his persistence in finishing the race. He perked right up and agreed that it had been worth the effort. And even though he finished last in the age group, he showed up and he didn’t quit. We can all learn something from that.

So, today I want to turn that into one of three quick hits to help motivate you to continue to keep striving to be your best. These are simple and easy steps you can take today — right now — without causing too much disruption to your daily life.

Quick Hit #1: Keep Plugging Away

Just like the runner in the marathon, there’s something to be said for not giving up. Whether you’re faced with a difficult circumstance or client or trying to make sense of new legislation, sometimes slow and steady are better than rushing in. If you don’t give up, you’ll be helping your clients.

Quick Hit #2: Utilize Time Blocking

We live in a distracted world, and it can be hard to keep focused on the task at hand. Time blocking can help with that. Set aside two to four hours for pure prospecting. Don’t take any calls or work on any other tasks. Instead, focus on your strategy for finding and attracting new clients. It could be making calls, clarifying your message to new prospects or engaging help with your website. With just two hours a week for 52 weeks in the year, you’ll have 104 hours of dedicated prospecting.

Quick Hit #3: Make the Most of Available Resources

Your partnership with Ash gives you access to resources you won’t find anywhere else. But just using a resource once or twice won’t really offer the same benefits available if you take time to really understand them.

Take our JourneyGuide software for example. If you’ve used it before, and it helped your client understand how to prepare for the future, you’ve seen the value it can bring. So, why not use it with every client? Take full advantage of the power the different scenarios offer and increase your success with your client relationships and with your business.

And if you haven’t tried JourneyGuide yet, let one of our Retirement Income Consultants show you just how effective it is. In addition, talk to them about the other tools we offer to make your business run more smoothly.

Little Changes That Make a Big Difference

When it comes to changing your mindset, sometimes starting with little changes gives you the momentum you need to transform. Your Ash team will be here to help you. Call us at 800-589-3000.
